EURO Pallet

History of the handling pallet:

Created in the United States in the early '40s, the spectrum consists of  wooden elements , facilitates handling, storage and transportation of goods. It is moved using forklifts.

Originally made of wood, there are also plastic pallets or recycled materials, or components or molded. They are generally lighter than wood, but especially for rot and stackable molded pallets.

in the 50s, the railroad companies in order to optimize the loading of wagonloads and have established a standardized specification that defines a pallett "standard" called "Europe" that will be subsequently labeled.

The pallet or pallet EUR EPAL Europe

The palette Europe or EPAL is a wooden pallet with four inputs which satisfies various requirements for the manufacture and repair and regulation, technical EPAL.

The mark is the property of EPAL association of the same name based in Germany EPAL.

It is the subject of an international deposit (1994).

800X1200 pallet was designed to maximize the lot size load in relation to the size of railroad cars at the time, later became the standard of road vehicles in Europe.

The EUR EPAL pallet was expected to take into account some dynamic load and make several rotations and thus contribute to reducing the logistics costs  and industrial packaging waste.

Euro Pallet  can be repaired and joined the recycling sector end use.

Identification:

Pallet EURO EPAL  have differents marks on these elements (wood blocks)) EUR logo, logo EPAL pallets for manufactured after 1995 and sign railway company SNCF in France , DB GERMANY, ..) and possibly the manufacturer's logo. The repaired pallet is also identifiable by the installation of  a nail and / or staples EPAL stamped by approved repairer .

Size 1200x800 mm and weighing about 30 kg, a palette EURO supports dynamic loading between 1000 and 1400 kg. species of wood used for its construction are mainly pine and poplar.

40 millions pallets were manufactured in 2005.

Food industry is the biggest user of this type of pallet.

ISPM 15 Norm . ( also Called NIMP15 norm)

In order to meet the International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15 (ISPM15 or ISPM 15 in English) which requires an insecticide treatment to wood moved from a country infested by borers, wood pallets follow traiteemnts heat or fumigationau methyl bromide.

30 countries have adopted this standard plant for wood export.

The treated pallets are marked with the IPPC manufacturer number who complete the treatment
